1/2010 Officially announced campaign for State Senate.
9/15/09 First event to kick off the "Rick Murphy Exploratory Committee" as I consider whether to run for a 4th and final term in the AZ House or for the AZ Senate seat being vacated by Senate President Bob Burns.
12/3/08 Awarded the "Eagle for Enterprise" award by the Arizona Small Business Association.
11/19/08 Appointed Chairman of the House Ways & Means committee.
11/4/08 Won re-election to a third term in the AZ House by nearly 8,000 votes!
8/21/08

Named "Champion of the Taxpayer" by the Arizona Federation of Taxpayers Tied for 13th out of all 90 Arizona Legislators with an 82% rating.

9/2/08 Won unanimous re-nomination for a third term.
12/15/07

Named "Friend of the Taxpayer" by the Arizona Federation of Taxpayers Tied for 10th out of all 90 Arizona Legislators with an 82% rating.  Also awarded the "Kendrick Award for Legislative Courage" for standing up to special interests and Senate Republican leadership to pass new penalties for sales tax giveaway schemes.

HB2515, my bill to penalize special interest sales tax giveaways, becomes law after years of effort.

Clean Elections Commission dismisses 2005 complaint. (pages 24-33)

11/7/06 Won re-election to a second term by almost 800 votes.

The first new school choice program in the nation signed by a Democrat governor, my bill to provide education vouchers to foster children, becomes law.

Awarded a B+ by the Goldwater Institute, tied for 7th in the AZ House.

9/5/06 Won re-nomination for a second term by a nearly 3-1 margin.
