For sponsoring and passing HB2515 (2007), which enacted strong financial penalties for municipalities that squander sales tax money on "incentives" to special interests, such as the City North project.  Various legislators had tried unsuccessfully for several years to achieve this reform against strong opposition from special interests.

Inaugural "I Hope" Award Arizona Childrens' Association

For my work to improve circumstances for children in the foster care system and disabled children.  ACA Advocates for foster and other vulnerable children.

For  sponsoring and passing HB2644 (2006), which eliminated a conflict of interest among members of the Chiropractic Board of Examiners and working to reduce anti-chiropractic bias in the healthcare laws.

For sponsoring and passing HB2652/SB1164 (2006), which created the Displaced Pupils Choice Grant, a $5,000 scholarship for current and former foster children to attend any school their parent or guardian chooses.
